Ways To Optimize Adsense

When website owners desire to make money from their websites, Adsense may be one of the best options. While it is true that there seems to be a great disparity between the few that seem to be making tons of cash every day with Adsense and the masses that are making pennies, there are some things to be learned from those that are consistent earners that will almost certainly increase your Adsense earnings.

Here are some simple suggestions to optimize your potential Adsense income:

1. Make most or all of your Adsense ads the sizes that perform best. The two best performing sizes are the large rectangle sized 336 pixels by 280 pixels tall, and the medium rectangle sized 300 pixels wide by 250 pixels tall. If your website content looks odd or misshapen with these ads inserted, consider reshaping the content to make the ads blend well.

2. Use colors from your website in your Adsense ads. Generally speaking, the more you can make your ads
blend into your site and make them look like an integral part, the better. This means making the ad's border and background color the same as your web page background color.

3. There is a phrase that describes where the most important content must go on every website: 'above the fold'. This phrase harkens to the days when newspapers were king, and the headlines were never below the fold of the paper. Today, it means your most important content must be at the top of the page, so viewers don't have to scroll down to see it. This applies to your Adsense placement even more so. Ads at the bottom do not get high click counts.

4. Don't try to put Adsense on every page, if the traffic difference is great or the content amount or holding power varies widely. Concentrate your ad placement on your higher traffic pages to begin with. Find out what pages have good content amount but might not have the reader's attention very long. Your Adsense ad placed there may give them an easy out and more clicks.

These are just a few suggestions that have worked for others to help them earn more with Adsense. They may work for your website to a lesser or greater degree. The only way to know for sure is to implement the changes and test it out. Keep copies of your previous attempts in case your new as layout doesn't perform as well.
