The Art of Living Enters Strategic Partnership with the National Psoriasis Foundation

September 11, 2009, Coral Springs, FL - The Art of Living with Marilu Henner and the National Psoriasis Foundation have entered into a strategic partnership to expand education on psoriasis, one of the most prevalent autoimmune diseases in the United States. As leaders in the educational television genre, The Art of Living is working with the National Psoriasis Foundation, a nonprofit patient advocacy organization committed to finding a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, to provide viewers across the country with expert-driven information about the disease. "This new strategic partnership with the National Psoriasis Foundation will bring heightened awareness to psoriasis, a disease that affects so many Americans," said Jim Nicholas, Vice President of Production for The Art of Living. "Together, we will provide viewers with information related to the non-contagious, chronic, painful and disabling genetic disease for which there is currently no cure." Leading dermatologist, Dr. Mark Lebwohl, Chairman of the National Psoriasis Foundation Medical Board and Professor & Chairman of Dermatology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, will address such topics as the types and causes of psoriasis, how the disease affects children and adults, treatments available, improving
the quality of life of those who are affected, and the latest in psoriasis research. "Psoriasis is a serious, autoimmune disease that affects up to 7.5 million Americans, yet much about it remains unknown," said Randy Beranek, president and CEO of the National Psoriasis Foundation. "We are pleased to partner with The Art of Living with Marilu Henner to educate the public about the impact of psoriasis on the individual and highlight the need for better treatments and a cure for this devastating disease."
